Our expectations\/needs are developed as a function of our different experiences, contexts and education. For one individual, work could be simply a means to an end financially, for another, it could be a means for self-expression.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When our needs are met or our expectations are confirmed, we can experience engagement in our work (and therefore disengagement if the contrary is true and our needs or expectations are not met). This notion of confirming or going against our expectations is crucial to engagement, highlighting its individualised nature.<\/span>\r\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 28px;\"><b><i>Why measure employee engagement ?<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/h2>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are a multitude of benefits that have been shown to result from employee engagement:\u00a0<\/span>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reduced absenteeism\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reduced turnover<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Increased productivity<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Better customer satisfaction\u2026 and more.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2><b><i><span style=\"font-size: 28px;\">How to measure employee engagement ?<\/span> <\/i><\/b><\/h2>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first step to enhancing employee engagement is to gauge the <\/span><b>current state of affairs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; how engaged are your employees now? Adding this question alongside the subsequent two key scores, provides us with a more comprehensive view of employee engagement. <\/span>\r\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employee experience<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This score is calculated from the average of all 6 axes of engagement, enabling us to evaluate<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">how satisfied employees are with regard to various aspects of working life (relationships with one\u2019s manager and colleagues, working conditions\u2026).\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By examining the principal areas of employee satisfaction\/dissatisfaction, managers &amp; HR professionals can obtain valuable insights, helping to identify areas for improvement to enhance engagement. The scores to all these elements of employee experience have been shown to reliably predict a key measure frequently cited in employee engagement: the eNPS. <\/span>\r\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">eNPS<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The eNPS question (see below) measures the extent to which employees recommend the company as a place of work.
